Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of remotetide.com (the “Site”) and any related services operated by RemoteTide (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using the Site — whether as a job seeker, an employer, or a visitor — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
Questions? Contact us at hello@remotetide.com.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RemoteTide, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Site on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and RemoteTide. Your continued use of the Site after any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.
2. Description of Service
RemoteTide is an online job board that connects employers posting remote job opportunities with job seekers looking for remote work. The platform allows:
- Job seekers to browse, search, and filter remote job listings at no cost and without creating an account.
- Job seekers to sign up for email alerts for new jobs matching their preferences.
- Employers to publish job listings on the platform under one of our available plans (Free, Standard, or Featured).
RemoteTide is a job listing intermediary only. We are not a staffing agency, recruiter, or employment agency. We do not participate in, endorse, or guarantee any hiring outcome, employment relationship, or communication between employers and job seekers. We are not a party to any agreement between an employer and a job seeker.
In addition to employer-submitted listings, RemoteTide may display job listings aggregated from third-party sources (such as public job board APIs). These aggregated listings are sourced from external providers and are displayed for informational purposes. RemoteTide does not independently verify the accuracy or currency of aggregated listings and is not responsible for their content. Aggregated listings may be subject to the terms of the originating job board.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to use this Site. By using RemoteTide, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
RemoteTide is available to users worldwide. However, we make no representation that the Site or its content is appropriate or available in all jurisdictions. You are responsible for complying with local laws that apply to your use of the Site.
4. User Conduct
4.1 Free Access
Browsing and applying for jobs on RemoteTide is free. No account is required. You may use the Site to search and apply for jobs for personal, non-commercial use.
4.2 Job Alert Emails
If you subscribe to job alert emails, you authorize us to send you periodic emails containing remote job listings matching your preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any alert email. We will not share your email address with employers or third parties for marketing purposes.
4.3 Prohibited Conduct
When using RemoteTide, you agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, index, or systematically download job listings or any content from the Site using automated tools, bots, spiders, or scripts without our prior written consent.
- Use the Site or its content for any commercial purpose, including building a competing job board, aggregating listings for resale, or creating derivative databases.
- Attempt to circumvent or test the security or access controls of the Site.
- Submit false or fraudulent applications to employers through links on our platform.
- Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer any portion of the Site.
5. Employer Terms
5.1 Posting a Job
By posting a job listing on RemoteTide, you represent and warrant that:
- The job opportunity described is genuine, currently open, and available to applicants.
- All information in the listing is accurate, complete, and not misleading — including job title, description, compensation range, location requirements, and application process.
- You are authorized to post on behalf of the company named in the listing.
- The role is a legitimate employment or contracting opportunity, not a multilevel marketing scheme, franchise opportunity, or unpaid internship disguised as employment.
- You will update or close the listing promptly if the role is filled, cancelled, or significantly changed.
5.2 Employer Responsibilities
Employers are solely responsible for the content of their job listings and for all interactions with job applicants. RemoteTide does not screen, vet, or verify employer-submitted content. We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to review, edit, or remove any listing at our sole discretion.
Employers must comply with all applicable employment, anti-discrimination, and equal opportunity laws in their jurisdiction. Job listings must not specify or imply preferences for candidates based on protected characteristics (such as race, gender, age, religion, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation) except where such requirements are bona fide occupational qualifications permitted by law.
5.3 Management Links
After submitting a job listing, employers receive a management link by email. This link allows the employer to edit or close their listing and expires 30 days from the date of issue. Employers are responsible for keeping this link secure. RemoteTide is not liable for unauthorized use of a management link by third parties.
5.4 Prohibited Employer Conduct
Employers may not use RemoteTide to:
- Post jobs that are fake, fraudulent, or designed to collect personal information from job seekers under false pretenses.
- Post listings for positions requiring upfront payment from applicants.
- Use job listings as a vehicle to advertise products, services, or opportunities unrelated to employment.
- Post duplicate listings for the same role without closing or removing the prior listing.
- Use job seeker information obtained via RemoteTide for any purpose other than evaluating candidates for the posted role.
- Harvest applicant email addresses or contact information for marketing, spamming, or selling to third parties.
6. Payment and Billing
6.1 Pricing Plans
RemoteTide offers the following job posting plans at the time of these Terms:
- Free — one listing per company (limit: one active free listing at any time), standard placement, active for 30 days.
- Standard ($49 per listing) — single listing with standard placement and full feature access, active for 60 days.
- Featured ($149 per listing) — single listing with highlighted placement and priority visibility in search results and email digests, active for 90 days.
Prices are in US dollars. Plans are per-listing and one-time — there are no subscriptions or recurring charges. Pricing is subject to change. The price displayed at the time of checkout is the price you will be charged.
Listings are automatically removed from public display when their active period ends. Employers are responsible for reposting if they wish to continue advertising a role after expiry. We do not provide automatic renewal or expiry notifications, though we may send a reminder email at our discretion.
6.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By submitting payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. RemoteTide never stores, sees, or handles your payment card information — all card data is collected directly by Stripe using its secure tokenization system.
Payment is charged at the time of listing submission. Your listing will be published on the Site within one hour of confirmed payment, subject to our content review process.
6.3 Refund Policy
Job listing fees are generally non-refundable once the listing has been published. We will consider refund requests in the following limited circumstances:
- A technical error on our platform prevented the listing from being published within 24 hours of confirmed payment.
- A duplicate charge occurred due to a technical error at the time of checkout.
- The request is made within 48 hours of payment and the listing has not yet received any applicant traffic.
To request a refund, email hello@remotetide.com with your transaction ID and reason. We will respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days and returned to the original payment method.
Listings removed for violations of our Content Policy (Section 7) are not eligible for refunds.
7. Content Policy
The following types of content are strictly prohibited in job listings and any other user-submitted content on RemoteTide:
- Fraudulent or deceptive listings — jobs that misrepresent the nature of the work, compensation, or company.
- Discriminatory language — content that excludes or demeans candidates based on protected characteristics.
- Multi-level marketing (MLM) — opportunities structured around recruiting others rather than performing work.
- Pay-to-work schemes — any listing that requires the applicant to pay a fee to apply, train, or start work.
- Misleading compensation — listings that present commission-only positions as salaried roles without clear disclosure.
- Illegal activity — postings soliciting assistance with anything that violates applicable law.
- Adult or explicit content — listings involving adult entertainment, even if lawful, are not permitted on the platform.
- Spam or duplicate listings — submitting substantially identical listings to game ranking or visibility.
We reserve the right to reject, remove, or modify any content that violates this policy at our sole discretion, without refund, and without prior notice to the employer. Repeated violations may result in permanent bans from the platform.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 RemoteTide Content
The RemoteTide name, logo, website design, codebase, and all content created by us (including but not limited to editorial copy, design elements, icons, and aggregated data displays) are the exclusive property of RemoteTide and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
8.2 Employer-Submitted Content
You retain ownership of the job listing content you submit. By posting a listing on RemoteTide, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, distribute, and promote your listing content on the Site and in communications such as job alert emails and social media posts for the purpose of operating and marketing the Service. This license terminates when your listing is removed from the Site.
You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to the content you submit, that it does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, and that it complies with these Terms.
9. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE OFFERED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any job listing or other content on the Site.
We do not endorse any employer or job listing. We make no representation that any employer is legitimate, financially solvent, or safe to interact with. Job seekers are solely responsible for independently verifying the legitimacy of any employer or opportunity before applying.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REMOTETIDE AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE OR ITS CONTENT — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL REMOTETIDE'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO REMOTETIDE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, the above limitations will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RemoteTide and its owners, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your access to or use of the Site.
- Any content you submit or post to the Site, including job listings.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Your infringement of any third party's intellectual property or other rights.
We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of that claim.
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at hello@remotetide.com and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the issue informally. This does not apply to requests for emergency injunctive relief.
12.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site — including questions about whether a dispute is subject to arbitration — shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Consumer Arbitration Rules, as modified by these Terms. The arbitration will be conducted in English. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms by emailing hello@remotetide.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out.” If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts described in Section 12.3 below.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending the resolution of a dispute. Small claims court actions are also excluded from this arbitration requirement.
12.3 Class Action Waiver
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS — WHETHER IN ARBITRATION OR IN COURT — WILL BE BROUGHT IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S CLAIMS AND MAY NOT PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
12.4 Court Jurisdiction (Where Arbitration Does Not Apply)
Where arbitration does not apply — including if you have opted out, or for injunctive relief — you agree that disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may also have the right to bring a claim before the courts of the country where you reside, and any mandatory consumer protection provisions of your local law will apply notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection or privacy laws of your country of residence, including applicable Canadian federal or provincial law.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice such as a site announcement. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. If you disagree with any updated Terms, your only recourse is to stop using the Site.
15. Contact Us
If you have questions about these Terms, want to report a policy violation, or need to contact us for legal matters. Use a clear subject line such as “Legal Question,” “Refund Request,” or “Policy Report” so we can route it correctly:
