What this Journey Looks Like
We are looking for a Mid-Level Network Engineer to join the team of a leading Canadian client. In this role, you will support the administration, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise network environments, ensuring stability, performance, and security across critical systems.
This position is ideal for professionals with solid hands-on networking experience who are ready to take ownership of operational responsibilities while contributing to infrastructure improvement initiatives.
What You'll Lead and Build
Support the administration and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and Datacenter network environments.
Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot network hardware including firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and wireless access points.
Work with technologies such as Cisco (Nexus, ACI), Palo Alto, F5 BIG-IP, and Arista.

Handle day-to-day operational tasks, including:
Incident investigation and resolution
Change requests
Troubleshooting and remediation
Performance monitoring
Participate in root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions.
Monitor network performance and ensure high availability of production systems.
Assist in network infrastructure projects (implementation, upgrades, migrations).
Support hardware/software upgrades and patching activities.
Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, network diagrams, procedures, and inventory.
Follow network security best practices and support audit/compliance activities.
Participate in rotational on-call support for critical systems (24/7 environment).
What You Bring to the Table
3–5 years of experience in network administration or engineering roles.
Hands-on experience managing enterprise LAN/WAN environments.

Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting:
Cisco (Nexus, ACI preferred)
Palo Alto firewalls and Load Balancers (must)
F5 BIG-IP load balancers
Arista switches (nice to have)

Solid understanding of:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
VLANs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
VPNs and firewall policies
Experience supporting BAU operations and handling escalations.
Exposure to monitoring tools and performance analysis.
Understanding of network security principles and compliance practices.
Experience working in production environments with change management processes.
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across IT teams and vendors.
Availability for rotational on-call support.
