The Opportunity

The Collateral Underwriter is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and assessing subject collateral for loans originated through the retail platform. This position focuses on appraisal analysis and collateral risk evaluation to ensure compliance with Visio Lending guidelines, investor requirements, and industry standards. You will play a key role in maintaining loan quality, marketability, and a high standard of customer service through timely and accurate collateral decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Review, analyze, and render decisions on appraisal report escalations in accordance with company and investor guidelines
  • Complete comprehensive collateral reviews while meeting established service-level expectations
  • Manage a pipeline of collateral files and communicate issues with Appraisers, Processors, Customers, and Account Executives/Loan Originators
  • Stay current on investor guideline updates and collateral policy changes
  • Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with leadership regarding stipulations for loans
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned based on business needs
  • Authorized Remote Locations: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, NC, SC, TX, UT
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm CST
  • Salary Range: $35.09 - $48.00/hour (Non-Exempt/Hourly/Overtime Eligible)

What We Are Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in Collateral Underwriting or Valuation Review and/or a Bachelor's degree in business or a related industry area major
  • Working knowledge of investor underwriting guidelines and policies
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

What We Prefer to Find:

  • Someone with experience with Non-QM Loans
  • Someone with experience with underwriting DSCR loans
  • Someone with experience with Calyx Point and SalesForce
