Senior Full Stack AWS Engineer - Virtual

Role Overview

The Technology organization of Alight Solutions is responsible for the life cycle planning of business applications through the phases of strategize, architect, select, deploy, operate, evolve, and retire. The Platform Leader is responsible for driving our platform vision forward, that has specific responsibility for building or configuring, maintaining or enhancing, and eventually decommissioning applications and services through their life cycle.

What You Will Do

Architect and implement serverless, event-driven, and containerized cloud applications using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, S3, ECS/EKS). Build robust, secure, and high-performance cloud-native solutions, leveraging both front-end (Angular, TypeScript) and back-end (Node.js, Java, RESTful APIs) technologies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, or full-stack application development
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., Bedrock, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, Glue, ECS/EKS, IAM, S3, API Gateway, RDS, CloudFormation, EC2, Fargate, CloudWatch)
• Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, or similar languages for serverless and full-stack development
• Strong grasp of context engineering, prompt orchestration, and LLM application design
• Proven success leading cross-functional engineering teams and innovating at the intersection of technology and business
• Commitment to accessibility and inclusive design principles
• Experience integrating agent-based architectures and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) on AWS
• Understanding of application-level security, compliance, and cost optimization best practices in the cloud
• Experience with internal developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and observability frameworks
• Prior contributions to AI/ML product teams or open-source cloud frameworks
• Skilled in serverless and containerized application design and deployment using AWS SAM, Docker, and ECS
• Experience in implementing secure authentication and authorization using AWS Cognito, OAuth2.0, and JWT
• Strong proficiency in database management with Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Aurora, including SQL and NoSQL modeling
• Good working knowledge of testing frameworks and backend testing tools like JUnit
• Strong exposure to Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with a focus on continuous delivery and iterative development
• Adept in version control and configuration management tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, and AWS CodeCommit
