We are currently partnering with a leading company in the energy transformer manufacturing industry, ranked among the top players in Europe and globally.

At the moment, they are building a Global IT Hub in Romania, with the local team being developed from scratch. For this Data Engineer role, the main catch is the opportunity to contribute to a newly started project and help build a Center of Excellence, bringing real value to a strategic global initiative.

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating the data foundation that enables analytics and AI across the organization. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ensure that data from various source systems is reliably integrated and accessible.

Working closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into high-quality, usable data products that support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation

  • Integrate data from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP, MES, engineering systems)

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across the data platform

  • Implement and optimize data storage and processing solutions

  • Collaborate with Data Architects to align with target architecture and standards

  • Support Data Scientists and business teams by providing well-structured and accessible data

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows

  • Contribute to the development of a modern, cloud-based data platform

  • Apply software engineering best practices in data development

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Several years of experience in data engineering or software engineering

  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL)

  • Experience with data integration and pipeline development

  • Familiarity with modern data architectures (data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse)

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) is a plus

  • Understanding of data quality and monitoring concepts

  • Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to build and shape a modern data platform from the ground up

  • Work in a global industrial environment with real-world impact

  • Close collaboration with Data & AI teams and business units

  • High degree of ownership and responsibility

  • A dynamic environment with room for innovation and growth

Before you apply

  • Confirm async-friendly culture vs daily standup-heavy expectations
  • Ask about on-call rotation and incident expectations
  • Check the tech stack matches what you actually want to use day-to-day
