Intelance is appointing an Oracle Technical Architect as a contract associate for the definition phase of a major UK enterprise technology programme. You will work with Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and Lead Integration Architect to confirm how the Oracle estate should support a staged integration programme. The current environment includes Oracle Database 19c, IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard. This is a focused architecture and assurance role. The expected commitment is about 10 days across an 8 to 10 week period. Delivery will be mainly remote, with limited planned travel where needed.

Tasks

  • Verify the current Oracle database, infrastructure, resilience and integration position.
  • Confirm the planned Oracle 19c, IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard changes and the dependencies they create.
  • Define which data and business rules must remain within Oracle.
  • Define the safe boundary between Oracle and the future integration platform.
  • Review existing direct connections and identify the highest risk dependencies.
  • Set requirements for availability, backup, recovery, performance, monitoring and support.
  • Assess whether planned Oracle and infrastructure investments remain suitable.
  • Provide Oracle requirements for platform and supplier selection.
  • Estimate specialist effort, dependencies, risks and likely delivery stages.
  • Produce clear technical findings and practical recommendations.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years working with enterprise Oracle estates.
  • Strong recent architecture experience with Oracle Database 19c.
  • Strong hands on or design experience with IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Experience with highly available, business critical Oracle environments.
  • Experience reviewing Oracle integrations, interfaces, batch jobs, files and database links.
  • Strong understanding of backup, recovery, patching, performance, resilience and security.
  • Able to separate verified facts from assumptions and identify what needs further testing.
  • Able to explain Oracle decisions clearly to non technical leaders.
  • Clear written and spoken English.
  • Based in the United Kingdom, with the right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Available for about 10 days across an 8 to 10 week period.

Experience in manufacturing, distribution or supply chain businesses is useful. Experience with HPE infrastructure and Oracle licensing is also useful.

Benefits

  • £625 to £700 per day, depending on directly relevant experience.
  • Flexible delivery pattern across the agreed 8 to 10 week period.
  • Direct access to Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and senior client technology leaders.
  • A focused piece of work with named outputs and decision points.
  • Potential follow on Oracle and implementation assurance work, subject to programme approval and performance.
  • Pre agreed travel expenses paid separately.

Please apply with a current CV. The process is a short screening form, a 30 minute introductory call and one focused technical discussion. We will move quickly and keep the process clear. The engagement will be subject to contract, reference checks and an IR35 status assessment.
