Shopify Developer

Job Responsibilities

The developer will take technical ownership of the Shopify Plus ecosystem. Day-to-day tasks include:

• Developing, testing, and deploying new features for the Shopify Plus theme, with a strong focus on Core Web Vitals and site speed optimization.
• Building and maintaining custom Shopify apps to extend store capabilities.
• Architecting and managing API integrations between Shopify and key business systems, including the NetSuite ERP, 3PLs, Klaviyo, and Gorgias.
• Collaborating with the e-commerce and marketing teams to implement new user experiences, A/B tests, and personalization features.
• Participating in architecting future-state technical solutions, such as AI-driven search and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
• Conducting code reviews, maintaining version control (Git), and ensuring the scalability and security of the platform.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• Expert proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+). * Deep experience with the Shopify Plus platform, including Shopify Scripts and custom app development.
• Proven experience with Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront) and building robust, mission-critical integrations.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce performance metrics and optimization techniques (Core Web Vitals, page speed).
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and modern development workflows.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) or headless commerce.
• Direct experience integrating Shopify with NetSuite ERP.
• Familiarity with the rest of the tech stack: Klaviyo, Gorgias.
• Interest or experience in AI-assisted development tools.

Prior Experience

• 3-5+ years of experience in a dedicated Shopify development role.
• A portfolio of work demonstrating successful development on high-volume Shopify Plus stores.
• Proven experience building and maintaining complex API integrations for an e-commerce brand (e.g., ERP, 3PL, WMS).
