Role Title: Bankruptcy Attorney

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

micro1 is engaging Bankruptcy Attorneys to contribute their specialized legal expertise to a customer's innovative project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Analyze, review, and annotate legal documents specific to bankruptcy law, providing expert feedback and substantive commentary.
  2. Draft sample motions, pleadings, and court filings reflecting common and complex scenarios in bankruptcy proceedings.
  3. Evaluate hypothetical legal scenarios and deliver well-reasoned written explanations and argumentation.
  4. Contribute to the creation of educational content and model training datasets relevant to bankruptcy practice.
  5. Assess model-generated legal answers for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current U.S. bankruptcy law.
  6. Participate in written and verbal communications, ensuring precise, high-quality input for AI training purposes.
  7. Identify nuances and emerging trends in bankruptcy law that can enhance the project's quality and breadth.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  2. Active license to practice law in the United States, with a minimum of 3 and up to 15 years of recent, hands-on bankruptcy law experience.
  3. Direct experience as an independent contributor on bankruptcy matters, including filings, court appearances, and advisory work.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to explain intricate legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  5. Judicial clerkship experience, particularly for a bankruptcy or federal judge (preferred).
  6. Experience teaching law (e.g., adjunct or guest lecturer) or creating legal instructional materials (preferred).
  7. Editorial experience with a legal journal or law review during law school (preferred).
