Remote Healthcare Hiring Pulse: 2026 Snapshot

August 31, 2026 · 7 min read

Remote healthcare hiring on RemoteTide covers a wider range of work than many people expect. The category includes clinical operations, medical coding, telehealth support, care coordination, health information management, and health-tech engineering roles. This article is a snapshot of what the live listings show right now, not a forecast. If you are searching for a remote healthcare role or setting compensation, these numbers give you a grounded view of the market as of August 31, 2026.

Active healthcare listings

RemoteTide currently hosts 455 active healthcare listings. That count reflects roles posted by companies hiring for remote work in clinical, administrative, and technical areas of healthcare.

We do not compare this count to last year or last quarter. Job-board inventory shifts with posting cycles, expiry windows, and ingest timing, so a single number is only useful as a momentary read of supply. The snapshot date is August 31, 2026.

Who is hiring most actively

The top five companies by healthcare listing count on RemoteTide right now are:

  • OptiMindHealth: 40 listings
  • Lifelancer: 22 listings
  • Radiology Partners: 10 listings
  • Syneos Health India Private Limited: 8 listings
  • Guidehouse: 8 listings

A high listing count means a company is publishing many open roles in the healthcare category. It does not mean those roles are easier to land or that the company is growing faster than others. Some firms batch-post multiple openings at once; others keep a small number of evergreen listings. Use this list as a starting point for browsing, not as a ranking of quality or success.

The skills that appear most often

The most common skills and keywords attached to active healthcare listings are:

  • Go: 73 occurrences
  • Healthcare Administration: 31 occurrences
  • Medical Coding: 24 occurrences
  • Rust: 23 occurrences
  • Clinical Operations: 23 occurrences
  • Clinical Research: 23 occurrences
  • Mental Health Counseling: 21 occurrences
  • Health Information Management: 20 occurrences

Go and Rust stand out as the most frequently tagged technical skills. Healthcare Administration appears often as a broad umbrella for operational and coordination roles. Medical Coding, Clinical Operations, Clinical Research, Mental Health Counseling, and Health Information Management reflect clinical and administrative specializations. These counts reflect what employers choose to list, not what candidates should learn next. If you are deciding which skill to deepen, treat this as market signal, not instruction.

Reading the skills list honestly

Not every tag in the skills list is a direct clinical or caregiving skill. Go and Rust are programming languages, which means some of these listings are health-tech engineering or platform roles rather than patient-facing positions. Healthcare Administration is a wide label. Clinical Operations, Clinical Research, and Health Information Management can appear in titles or descriptions that overlap with operations, data, or compliance responsibilities.

That means the list is a frequency count of words employers associate with healthcare roles, not a strict skills inventory. The practical takeaway is still useful: Go and Rust are the most common hard-skill tags, administrative and operational terms appear heavily, and clinical specializations such as Medical Coding and Mental Health Counseling show up as distinct hiring signals.

Salary transparency in healthcare listings

Among the 455 active healthcare listings, 158 meet our stricter criteria for usable USD salary data. That is the sample used for the figures below.

For those 158 usable listings, the midpoint distribution is:

  • Median midpoint: $107,935
  • 25th percentile (p25): $77,500
  • 75th percentile (p75): $150,600

These figures are derived from the stated midpoint of each posted range, filtered to USD or null-currency listings, and reported only because the sample exceeds our minimum threshold. Sample size is n=158, extracted on August 31, 2026.

The spread is wide, which makes sense for a category that includes both administrative support and specialized technical or clinical roles. The median is not a prediction of what any one candidate will earn; it is a midpoint of posted ranges for the subset of listings that disclose pay in usable form.

What this snapshot does and does not tell you

This is a single point in time. It does not predict whether healthcare hiring will rise or fall, whether salaries will climb or compress, or which companies will keep posting. It also does not tell you what you will personally earn; actual offers depend on licensure, location policy, experience, certifications, and negotiation.

What the snapshot can do is orient your search. If you are looking for remote healthcare work, you now know which companies are most visible on the board, which skills and keywords are commonly requested, and what the current range looks like for roles that include pay data.

It can also help you avoid two common mistakes: assuming that a large number of listings means easy hiring, and assuming that a missing salary range means low pay. Neither follows from the data. The right move is to treat each listing as a single data point and build your own picture from many of them.

How to use this snapshot in your search

Start with the live inventory. Browse the current remote healthcare jobs to see open roles and which ones include salary ranges. Then compare ranges against the broader remote healthcare salary guide, where we summarize pay by role and seniority from the same dataset.

When you find a role you like, read the full listing. A posting may not list a salary but still disclose location policy, licensure requirements, contract type, or benefits. Those details often matter as much as the base number.

You can also use the top-company list as a research shortcut. If a company posts many healthcare roles, visit its careers page directly. Sometimes a job board shows only a subset of what is open, especially if the company uses multiple sourcing channels.

If your specialty is not in the top tags

The top skills list is a frequency count, not a ranking of value. If your specialty is nursing, care coordination, medical billing, behavioral health, or health-tech infrastructure, its absence from the top eight does not mean there is no demand. It means those terms appeared less often in the current batch of listings.

Use the remote healthcare jobs page to filter by your actual skills. The top-tags section tells you what is common right now; your search should tell you what is relevant to you.

How we compute this

Our healthcare salary figures come from RemoteTide's live job listings, extracted on August 31, 2026. We apply four rules before a listing contributes to a percentile. The full methodology is explained in How we compute this.

  1. Currency filter. The salary currency must be null or USD, case-insensitive. We treat null as USD because the majority of unlabeled remote salaries on RemoteTide are posted in US dollars.
  2. Complete range. Both salary_min and salary_max must be present. Partial ranges are excluded.
  3. Midpoint. We use (salary_min + salary_max) / 2 as the representative value for each listing.
  4. Band and sample-size guard. The midpoint must fall between $20,000 and $600,000. We report medians and percentiles only when at least 15 usable listings remain after filtering.

Healthcare met that threshold with 158 usable listings. Percentiles use ceiling-index matching against sorted midpoints, consistent with the live salary reports on RemoteTide.

The bottom line

Remote healthcare is a varied category on RemoteTide today, with 455 active listings. OptiMindHealth, Lifelancer, Radiology Partners, Syneos Health India Private Limited, and Guidehouse are currently the most prolific posters. Go and Rust are the most common technical tags, while Healthcare Administration, Medical Coding, Clinical Operations, Clinical Research, Mental Health Counseling, and Health Information Management reflect the administrative and clinical sides of the category. For listings with usable USD salary data, the median midpoint is $107,935, with the middle half of roles falling between $77,500 and $150,600.
